Legacy Volleyball was founded in 2012 with the intent to grow into one of the premier clubs in the Gulf Coast Region. Over the years, Legacy has continued to grow, build on past successes, learn from our challenges, and develop a reputation as a trusted and respected club in our community for youth athletes.
Club Director: Yana Johnson
Yana Johnson (Ninova) is a native of Vidin, Bulgaria. She was a four year letter winner at the Univ. of North Alabama (UNA) 2000-2003. During her tenure, she earned first team all Gulf Coast Conference recognition, as well as first team American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) South Central Regional honors all four years. Johnson and the UNA Lions won the NCAA II Volleyball Championship. She still holds numerous UNA records, including single-season mark for kills (857), kills per set (6,12) and double figure kill matches (39), as well as career kills per set (4.9). She was inducted in the UNA Hall of Fame in 2014. Johnson has coached throughout the past two decades in numerous capacities including a stint at the Univ. of South Alabama where she was the assistant from 2007-11. She is currently in her second season as the Head Varsity & JV Coach at Central Christian School in Robertsdale.
